Endless Life

If we both lived for a thousand years,
And if I spent each day with you,
And if we had no responsibilities,
Nothing that we had to do,
Still my time with you would be too short–
Insufficient for the need,
Because I love you and I want to know
Your heart, your mind, your everything!

We are immortals in mortality.
We are endless and yet bound.
Our hearts are deeper than the deepest seas.
Of our minds– the limits can’t be found.
I know this life could never be enough.
A million days would not suffice.
My quest to know you cannot be fulfilled
In numbered days or counted nights.

So let’s be sure of our eternity.
Then, we’ll never have to say, “Goodbye.”
Let’s trust in Jesus who has shed His blood
And then we’ll never have to die.
He’s made a way that we can both avoid
The separation that comes from sin.
We were created for an endless life!
God meant for us to live with Him!
